E- learning week for NYP students and also other students from other polytechnics , maybe!

This week , according to the actual schedule , it would be our common test week. However , due to the H1N1 influenza virus that spread like a wildfire , including our country ( as of June 30 , 2009 the tally was recorded to 701 cases in Singapore ) , all education institutes are taking pre-caution measures to take inset for the students not to be attending school , but to launch an on-line interactive learning lesson for NYP and other polytechnics here in Singapore.

The good thing is , no need to get out from the house. On Monday , it was terrifically the most memorable one as our class had the first on-line lesson about Materials Science with the lecturer.
I had a good time with it and I do understand better the concepts.

However , as the days passed , it tends to get boring. That was the reasons why some modules give out the benefit of the doubt by doing the assignment of powerpoint slides and a module ask even to prepare the script. Initially , it was until the end of the week. However , the module-in-charge pestered her for the students to submit yesterday ( 30 June 2009 , 1700h Singapore time). I had the great time to crack out the most possible interest that I would do for the script. Luckily , the assignment only urge to do somehing that interest me. So , I just crack out and I got the topic settle and done with it.

Ha , ha , ha , this doesn't mean that the common test topics that supposed to be studied to be forget and throw it aside. It was meant to study with as well. So , just bear it in mind then.

OK! Till now , time to make another post really soon!

My parachute- Process

Picture of the string with the tennis-ball inside.

Hello there! Want to see who our team made the parachute. At first , we thought it was easy but.....

Anyway , let me tell you guys out there the parachute as in , we only made it from a garbage bag followed by a cup to hold the tennis ball. Sounds silly , right? But that's how we made it by using the creativity that we had.

Not only that , with the dimensions given as 50 cm by 50 cm ( maximum ) , we started off with the real work by giving and making trials per trials.

So all the pictures shown here are the real process for the parachute. Imagine yourself doing it!

We took much pain and work to finish up the process. It was exteremely tiring. How not , if without the determination and willingness to do it , we do not think that we can make it.

We took the time to do some trials on the tenant itself. However , some factors that when achieving it , was totally to be appaling.

Some factors hinder the success of the parachute:-
  • Firstly , the wind. On the block itself that we tried out , it was considered to be heavy wind as when we try out from the fifth floor in order the parachute to glide down towards the first floor , the wind was heavily pushing our parachute away from the landing spot.
  • Secondly , the string. When the wind blew away the parachute , the string would then be easily entangled. This forces us to think deeply of a critical solution in order not to entangled the string again and again.
  • Last but not least , the timing. The time that we tried out the parachute may not seemed to be accurate as due to the nightfall that happen between us when we have the only time to do it.
Hence , we decided on to add in more string so that it would build up the strength for the tennis ball to hold on the cup that 'acts' as a base. Most importantly , due to time-constrain and also the wind factor that plays the biggest obstacle for the parachute , we decided not to try out at that vicinity. Instead , we prayed for our luck to be on our side as I am certain that the parachute that were enable to try out is not really windy after all.

Thankfully , when the real test was beng carried out , our group recorded the most longest time to land on the floor. Time recorded was 10.97 seconds. Our efforts have actually paid off. The vicinity of Block P , level 7 to level 4 , actually helped us a lot as there was no wind gushed towards the team's and other teams' parachute. We were extremely satisfied with ourselves. The parachute was indeed a success. Due to this success , I said to myself that I'll be keeping the parachute forever.

Hi again! Meeting in a blog is like what you feel you want to express yourself on something that eventhough you didn't know how to express it , you know how to do it.

Today , I have accomplished my first target on my academic achievement and I feel that I have done something for the best. I have practiced on my Engineering Mathematics , especially on the new topic that I actually did not understand a single thing at first , but after looking and understand about the concepts , I feel that I can get it.

The topic that I wanted to share is on the rectangular form and the polar form of a formula. I understand now that in order to find a rectangular or a polar form , two things you need to find , which is the angle and also the constant , r , that can be found by using the two values that comprehenses the formula a+bj. With these , only you can find the constant , r , and for the angle , it was simplify with the formula of tan @= b/a.

This topic can be found , to those who wants to refer , in topic 8.

OK! Adios , in Spanish means ,Goodbye!

My plans to revise for these 2 weeks.

In this post, I would like to layout the plan that I have already made in order to 'survive' for these two weeks.

During these two weeks , I know that it was some sort of adjustments needed to be make and all those sorts since that for these two weeks , I had to sit at home and rot. Worst of all , I didn't make any plans at all. Already for these two days , I wake up at midday which I usually did not do these during normal holidays. This holiday is meant for study , not really to play much.

Hence , this week , since it was considered as the first week and the list goes long like need to do for Materials Science individual report due on week 13 , study for Chemical Engineering Principles , Engineering Mathematics and Inorganic and Physical Chemistry , this week I am going to focus on my report for almost around four days , practice on my Engineering Mathematics since that only can be done and also read more and memorize on my Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. Yup , this week I am going to sit at home only , except for my Friday prayers.

Next week , I have one solid week for my practice on my CEP in short , to focus and concentrate on. Hopefully , my this formula works.

Getting familiarize with the goal setting.

I believe that somehow I need to change my strategies on as to how I have study during before the test and also preparing myself for the examination. Since aftermath of the tests , mainly Inorganic And Physical Chemistry , Engineering Mathematics and also Material Science , so far I have scored the best for Material Science.
